Firstly the scriptwriters seem to assume we are listening to Ambridge Extra so know the new characters and what they are agonising about! I don't and haven't a clue and don't find them interesting!

Secondly it looks like we are in for a cot death next week and more agonising fromHelen. I like my Archers cosier than this. If I want agonising I could watch Eastenders or Corrie, which I don't. PLEASE ask the scriptwriters to go back to normal!

Yes, reading between the lines of Ambridge Diary in the current RT, it appears that baby Henry is about to depart this mortal coil.Like ihill I too long for a cosier Archers.

During the last few years my favourite programme has become driven by issues, each moral dilemma is explored, the idea of character being the driver of the plot has gone.To be frank if I wanted issues to be the point of my soap I'd watch the dreadful "Eastenders".
I've listened to "the Archers" for over forty years and the last few years have been the least enjoyable, this year in particular.New, vibrant, young listeners are notgoing to tune into "The Archers" because of its "Relevance" to modern life. If you upset many more of your listeners, then your natural shelf life is over.
If you are to be issue based, I suggest paedophilia, so very relevant and Jim Lloyd is the one here, or incest, Kathy and jamie, David and Pip. Think of the headlines.
