What a totally loathsome coupole of creeps! I think Helen is an utter beast. I have not really heard such a selfish couple! Don't they want anything nice for their parents?

Please bring back some 'normal' storylines. Reaching the end of my tether. Vile! Vile!

Well, I didn't really think that Pat should have made contact after assuring Tom and Helen that she wouldn't without the blessing of the rest of the family. However, what's done, done and cannot be undone, as somebody very famous wrote. I agree that Tom and Helen are behaving very selfishly and should now try to support and comfort their mother, as adult children should, although to be sure, the idea of Helen supporting ANYBODY is just a leetle ridiculous. But come on, this is not going to be repeated - to all intents and purposes, that is. Do Tom and Helen really resent Pat and Tony laying their eyes on their grandson, who after all is their nephew and darling Henry's cousin, just once? What are they afraid of?

Apart from QB Helen's natural dislike of herself and GM Henry not being the centre of attention, what's really frightening this selfish pair is the thought that as John's son, John Jnr could claim a share of their inheritance.

I think this is an excellent story-line, and, while I agree that Tom and Helen are being self-centred, their reaction is completely understandable. Deep down, it all stems from jealousy. How many people would want the long-lost adolescent off-spring of their dead sibling (a sibling who, perhaps, they feel was their parents favourite and who has achieved a kind of posthumous sainthood through death)to be the centre of attention in this way? And isn't Pat being equally emotionally self-indulgent?
The only person I feel sorry for in this scenario is Tony, who's caught in the middle.

I get annoyed because these people can be very insular! Helen never mentions 'friends' just family.

In this day and age of such modern communications surely they could branch out a little?

Helen does not have any redeeming features. She is utterly selfish and it is all ME ME ME!

She has never mentioned once the number f women who try in vain for a baby with IVF and fail (Not me, by the way!)I know she did it by donor, but she still could have failed.

I have never really heard her say how lucky she was to get pregnant and she never wants joy for her dear old Mum (wo I happen to really like)

When Rich was mentioned they could have been more amenable but then we would not have had a storyline which made me so angry!

Oh, I agree about Helen's selfishness. The manner in which she acquired Henry and decided for him that he wouldn't ever know his father was little short of disgusting, in my view. So, it's rather hypocritical of her to resent the sudden emergence of Rich. On the other hand, I've been equally annoyed with Pat a) for encouraging Helen to go for donor insemination b) for getting so mopey about Rich!

I cannot stand Pip! She is all of eighteen and thinks she can run her father's business.

When I hear her voice I despair

It would seem that the youngest generation are setting the pace, Pip, Tom and Helen the grundy boys. Thank god that Kate is still in Africa !
what happened to the humour and the older members of the cast, have they become redundant. very few storylines it feels as if the Ambridge extra is taking over.
It used to be so entertaining with all the different families now it is moaning and whinging from all these youngsters
