As Lynda opens auditions for her latest production, Ambridge sets the stage for some fun this week…
The folk of Ambridge resist the urge to ‘boooo’ and ‘hissss’ every time Clive Horrobin walks past. Still, given his history Clive knew they’d be a tough crowd. Having set the stage for the BL board, Debbie and Brian regret not bringing Adam in on rehearsals; he’s definitely not sticking to the script and, although it’s clearly a heartfelt performance, his improv is getting them nowhere. And talking of going nowhere, Lynda’s on the lookout for talent, but finds Ambridge wanting… she’s already dreading the reviews come December!
What’s On
Elsewhere, Emma struggles now that someone else is in the spot light. She wishes she could be centre stage but has to make do with being a drama queen instead. While Jim and Christine get closer, stage whispers grow as everyone in the village wonders what’s going on behind the plush curtain. Bert puts on a good show, and Tom’s performing pigs are a box office hit, but can he convince his parents that giving him top billing will solve all their problems? Having immersed themselves in tragedy, the folk of Bridge Farm would love a happy ending… Much Ado About Nothing? A Comedy of Errors? All’s Well That Ends Well? They can carry on A-Midsummer-Night’s-Dreaming…
As if the gossip wasn’t entertainment enough, there are exciting events to look forward to in Ambridge including a sparkling bonfire night and a very special do on January 1st, so tune in and let them entertain you… It’s The Archers!

Tasters for 16th-21st October 2011
With Clive on the loose, Ambridge is feeling unsettled this week…
Scared by the fact that Clive is out and about, Christine is tempted to lock herself away for her own protection. Thankfully she gets her own police escort – well next best thing - so she remains free to roam. Meanwhile, enamoured of his uncle, little George has to learn that crime doesn’t pay, and it’s not good for play either. He is forced to face his responsibilities and atone for his sins, or he'll have Emma to answer to!
By hook or by crook
Elsewhere, Lynda finds that persuading Jazzer to perform in her Christmas Show is like taking candy from a baby - let’s just hope he goes on to steal the show. Partners in crime Debbie and Brian plot behind Adam’s back. Tom makes a dodgy deal, while Tony makes Jennifer feel like she’s committed a crime by refusing to bail him out. After stealing a kiss, Will steals Nic’s heart. Why not steal away from it all and serve some time in Ambridge?… It’s The Archers!

Tasters for 9-14th October 2011
Our Ambridge residents are on the make, but wheeling and dealing their way through the week puts heads in a spin…
Tom finally gets his rebranding wish and, going for the hard sell, even Tony is impressed with the results. Could he be about to give in, turning back on the Bridge Farm brand? I’m sure Pat would have something to say about it! Meanwhile, Clive Horrobin is back in town and, despite his best efforts to rebrand himself, so far his Mum is the only one to buy it. Having sold him out, Susan is stressed and refuses to believe his spin. Badboy to niceguy after a few years in the clink? It’ll take more than a smile and a wink to convince the folk of Ambridge.
Don’t sell yourself short
While Alice considers putting herself back on the job market, Clarrie’s job hunting is getting her nowhere as she continues to sell herself short. Jim tries to sell Oliver a new idea, and it looks like he might go for it. Lynda is at her most persuasive, garnering new recruits for her Christmas extravaganza. Having successfully pitched their idea to the board, Debbie and Brian have someone left to convince, but Adam feels as though he’s been sold down the river.
It’s 60 years old but as fresh as a daisy… It has over 5 million listeners… It will make you young and beautiful… It’s the best radio drama series in the world… Have you bought it?... It’s The Archers!

A blast from the past jogs a few memories this week, as some Ambridge residents take a trip down memory lane…
Kenton struggles to find storage for a box of his memories, but he’s not quite willing to let them go; a reminder that he’s bringing baggage with him as he gets closer to Jolene, but has she already forgotten Sid? Kathy meanwhile, remembers who her friends are and rises to the fore in a bid to help Pat and Tony. Having decided not to trouble Peggy with his financial concerns, is Tony forgetting someone?
A face from the past
As someone who revels in the past, Jim proposes a new project with its roots in history. Could his restoration plan also restore Joe’s vim and vigor? Clarrie certainly hopes so. Meanwhile, Clarrie wonders whether Will is trapped in the past. Is Emma frozen in his memory forever, and will the bitter enmity between the battling brothers ever thaw?
Elsewhere, Jill and Elizabeth take a stroll down memory lane as they reflect on lost love… Brenda attempts to recall the finer points of her marketing course as she tries to get Tom’s business off the ground… and a surprise visitor dredges up old memories for some Ambridge residents.
